The annual Rock City Festival in Sheffield is a two-day event for a good cause: the money raised goes to benefit Easter Seals.
The lineup features mostly local acts — some moderately well-known (Michael Stanley’s side project the Midlife Chryslers, dance rockers pOUT), most pretty obscure — on two stages. There’s a heavy tilt toward funk and soul.
Both days are headlined by Columbus bands that’ve been frequent visitors here: the soulful horn-driven Mojoflo on Friday and funky dance rockers the Floorwalkers on Saturday.
The festival also issues a digital compilation featuring many of the acts playing so you can take them home with you.
A one-day ticket is $10, or $15 with a copy of the compilation. Weekend passes range from $12 to $75. The festival takes place on the patio and lot of the Sheffield Village Quaker State and Lube.
