The Phantasy Concert Club in Lakewood features a triple bill of local bands, including one that was launched by the annual High School Rock Off.
Gravity won the competition in 2007, and parlayed that win into a series of high-profile local gigs that were complementary with its progressive-leaning metal sound. They band claims as influences, Kamelot, Sonata Arctica, Dream Theatre and Symphony X, all of whom they’ve opened to.
So far they’ve released two albums, 2007’s Into Oblivion and 2010’s Midnight Sonata, and they’re working on a third.
Also on the bill are two newer and lesser-known local bands: prog/post rock quartet A Thousand Dreams and noisy rockers the Houses. Admission is $3.
