Local Rock Aggressors Murderedman Release New LP at Now That’s Class

Wed 7/24 @ 9PM

None of the four members of the relatively new Cleveland band Murderedman — formed in late 2011 and debuting last April — will be unfamiliar to denizens of the area’s small clubs. John Delzoppo, Ron Kretsch, Rich Raponi and David Russell have been giggling for years in bands like Self Destruct Button, Clan of the Cave Bear, and Jerk.

With Murderedman, they set out to be less self-consciously complicated than their previous bands and, as Kretsch says “pursue something more purely assaultive.” And Russell’s yammering vocals certainly evoke the ear abuse rained down upon loud fans in the ’90s by bands like the Jesus Lizard, although a tad more melodic.

Listen for yourself here.

At their upcoming show at Now That’s Class — the same place they played their debut show — they’ll be releasing a full-length 12-inch vinyl LP Love in Danger and a limited-edition tour-only split cassette with Drose, with whom they’re currently on the road. Drose and Cleveland’s Pleasure Leftists and Skin Graft are also on the bill.

Admission is $5.
