With 50 years as a recording and performing act, the Rolling Stone could provide material for a year’s worth of special weekend events.
So the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum clearly had no trouble filling its upcoming Rolling Stones weekend being held in conjunction with its current exhibit Rolling Stones: 50 Years of Satisfaction, which runs through March 2014.
You can argue about when they should have hung it up (I vote for 1975), but it’s clear they won’t do so until either Mick Jagger or Keith Richards kicks the bucket. And since Richards has lasted this long, that’s probably not going to happen anytime soon.
Among the events are film screenings, members-only activities on Saturday and a special Rock and Roll Night School devoted to a Stones album chosen by voters. I call foul. The list of eligible albums includes clunkers like 1989’s Steel Wheels and 2005’s A Bigger Bang but not Aftermath (“Paint It, Black,” “Under My Thumb,” “Lady Jane”) or Beggars Banquet (“Sympathy for the Devil,” “Street Fighting Man).

Admission to the Rock Hall, which includes all activities, is $22; $18 for Greater Cleveland residents; $13 9-12; free ages 8 and under.
