Sounds of Simon and Garfunkel at Blossom

Sun 7/14 @ 7PM

Some very familiar sounds will be bouncing off Blossom Music Center’s hillside at the Cleveland Orchestra concert tonight. No, they won’t be doing Beethoven’s Ninth.

More familiar than that even.

They’ll be presenting “The Sounds of Simon & Garfunkel,” featuring vocalists AJ Swearingen and Jonathan Beedle, a couple of musicians who have made a nice living for themselves for nearly two decades with their Simon & Garfunkel tribute act.

It’s probably not necessary to list what you’re going to hear because the songs are so much part of the culture. You barely need to know anything about Simon & Garfunkel to know tunes like “The Boxer,” “The Sound of Silence,” “Mrs. Robinson,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Homeward Bound,” “Cecilia” — and on and on.

Conductor Michael Krajewski makes his Blossom Music Festival debut.

Pavilion tickets are $25-$85. Lawn tickets are $20; under 18 free.
