If you’re a fan of Rust Belt Chic and Cle’s unique rust belt culture, you’ll want to check out Belt, Cleveland’s new online literary magazine. Join the launch party this Fri 8/23 at the historic St. John’s Church in Ohio City.
This won’t be some hush-hush gathering; this will be an outright celebration. According to the organizers, we can expect:
–Rust Belt trivia with WCPN’s David C. Barnett
–DJs Matt Laferty and Andy Auten of Hinter Sound spin international pop, psychedelic, gospel, country, funk and soul. With rusty music from across the midwest on top.
–Writers play music! The Gordon Square Players feat. Lee Chilcote on guitar
–Readings from Rust Belt Chic, the book that started it all. Alissa Nutting (“Tampa”), poet Dave Lucas, Jacqueline Marino (“White Coats” ) and others read from their work.
–Late-nite snacks served up by Chef Ben from Spice Kitchen+Bar
–Beer and wine to wash it all down
