Cleveland Orchestra Brings Four Seasons to Blossom

Sun 8/11 @ 7PM

The quartet of Vivaldi violin concertos known as The Four Seasons is one of the most popular pieces in the classical repertoire, each one sonically evoking its namesake season.

So even though you may not want to think about “Winter” as you relax on the lawn at Blossom Music Center, eating your picnic supper and sipping wine, you can still enjoy the Cleveland Orchestra’s rendition of the pieces. They’ll feature 24-year-old award-winning Australian violinist Ray Chen, making his Cleveland Orchestra debut, as soloist.

Also on the program are Rossini’s Overture to The Thieving Magpie and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 3. Jahja Ling, who served many years with the Cleveland Orchestra, including as music director of the Blossom Festival, is back on familiar turf to conduct.

Pavilion tickets are $25 to $85. Lawn tickets are $20, or free under 18.
