Kent-based pop punk quartet Light Years snagged a deal with respected Florida-based indie label Paper+Plastick records. It dropped its first full-length I Won’t Hold This Against You in June.
And because one of the missions of Paper+Plastick is to present music in creative packaging, it’s released Light Years’ vinyl in four different formats: black vinyl with a limited-edition hand-screened jacket, opaque orange, clear orange with black swirls, and pink.
Alternative Press called Light Years’ music “pop-punk for grown-ups.” Oh, come on — ALL pop-punk is for kids and grown-ups in temporary regression. And while typical for its genre, it’s good, solid, tuneful music.
It’s now formally marking its release with a record release show at Mahall’s. Ages, Lawskof, Dead Leaves, and Dismantle open.
Admission is $8.
