This year’s third annual Weapons of Mass Creation fest was consolidated at one location — Gordon Square’s Cleveland Public Theatre complex.
It provided ample room for three stages of music, a large display of graphics, an art-making area, a stage for speakers with lots of room for listeners, and a vendors area where designers and artists could show (and sell) their wares and services. There was even free popcorn!
But corralling the event into a central location made for stronger interaction among participants. While attendees came from all across the country — and several foreign countries — to be inspired by the work being done by other artists, designers, and musicians, they also came to be inspired by each other, to meet, interact and exchange ideas. WMC is as much about the people as it is about whose posters are on the wall, who’s speaking, and what the band lineup is.
