Center For Arts-Inspired Learning Inspires Responses

Cool Cleveland attended the Icons Of Art Party that The Center for Arts-Inspired Learning threw at the Renaissance on Fri 9/27/13 to celebrate their 60th anniversary, make some awards, and announce their new name. Formerly Young Audiences of Northeast Ohio, the new moniker inspired some responses from attendees:

Jimmie Woody, professional teaching artist

“It’s a great name. It represents new ideologies and new thinking. Sometimes you have to put one thing down to pick another thing up. The new name is very powerful, not generic. It tells us what the organization is trying to do. It is illustrious.”

Katie Solender, board member

“This organization has come such a long way in 60 years. But the problem was, it had started to sound a little passive with “Young Audiences.” What? Like all we do is concerts in schools. Instead, we see oursleves as central to the arts and learning. It’s a great name!”

Liz McMahon Wozniak, former executive director

“Very nice! It’s no surprise. This is an organization that does nothing but look to the future. They link, in a significant way, students and the arts.”

Dan Lindsey, board member

“After 60 years of being associated with excellence in arts education, we want to keep that, plus inspire people who don’t already know about the organization to understand what it’s all about. I think the new name does that.”
