Just a few weeks ago, Paul Collins of pioneering San Francisco-based pre-punk/new wave group the Nerves was in town at the Happy Dog.
Now one of his bandmates in that group is following him to Cleveland with a solo show at the Winchester. Like Collins, Peter Case went on to form another pop/rock grounded group that garnered more attention than the Nerves. Case’s Plimsouls even had a minor hit with “A Million Miles Away.”
By the mid-’80s, Case had moved into more roots-based music as a solo artist, and he’s continued to mine that rich lode in his songwriting in a dozen albums over the last thirty years.
He’ll be playing by himself at the Winchester.
Tickets are $15.
