Danielle DeBoe Harper, former proprietor of retail shops Room Service and Dredgers Union, and now event planning service W&P (Weddings & Parties), is known for her keen curatorial sense.
That extends to her annual evening Lake Erie cruise/concert on the lake, Roar Along the Shore, on board the Goodtime III.
This year, she’s managed to top the outstanding lineups of the previous two years, culling a variety of the very best local original artists.
She’s got the young, theatrical, keyboard-dominated quartet the Modern Electric. She’s got the six-piece Seafair whose epic rock sound is enhanced with electric cello and violin.
There’s no-holds-barred hardcore wreckers Above This Fire, crazed punkabilly rockers the Whiskey Daredevils, heavy sludge-meets-ambient Ohio Sky, and the poppy Herzog.
The bands will play on two stages, and music will start at 8:30pm, an hour before the boat leaves the dock at East 9th Street behind the Rock Hall.
Of course, there will be bars with drinks available for purchase, and DeBoe is promising some décor and other touches from her party-planning expertise.
