Waterloo

An Emerging Music and Arts Destination

Just east of Cleveland, as you drive along I-90/2, past University Circle and Bratenahl, north of the highway you will find the old city neighborhood of Collinwood. This friendly community sits north of the freeway and south of Lake Erie, between Bratenahl on the west and Euclid on the east.

The working class neighborhood started as a place for the families of Eastern-European immigrants who worked for the railroads and factories. Now it is emerging as a music and arts district — the Waterloo Arts District — anchored by the Beachland Ballroom and Waterloo Arts. Creators and consumers of music who have been visiting the music scene in Collinwood are now settling down here, finding Collinwood to be an affordable place to live and work. Each year the district puts on its signature event, Waterloo Arts Fest.
