Some musicians just can’t be around gear enough.
Brent Ferguson and Tim Parnin are so addicted to topnotch equipment that they opened their showroom downtown last year.
The two musicians started Guitar Riot to sell the kind handmade boutique guitars, amps and guitars they enjoy — not the stuff you find kicking around every chain music store. (Ferguson spent 11 years working at Dr. Z amps in Maple Heights, one of the product lines they carry.)
About half their business is done online and half in their showroom. To broaden awareness among northeast Ohio musicians, they’re holding an open house to show off their product lines.
It’ll feature demonstrations and Q&A sessions with Ken Haas from Detroit’s Reverend Guitars and Jamie and Julie Stillman from Akron-based Earthquaker Devices. They’ll also be giving away a Reverend guitar and an Earthquaker pedal to two lucky attendees.
You can RSVP and get more info on their Facebook event page.
