Brite Winter Fest Looking for Musicians

Sat 2/15/14

The outdoor music season has come to a close. But you musicians out there don’t have to wait until next May to play an outdoor festival.

The Brite Winter Fest, which will present its fifth edition on Sat 2/15/2014, gives you a shot at performing outdoors in a blizzard.

This year’s festival featured 48 bands —almost evenly split between area musician and touring acts — performing on seven stages, both indoors and out, scattered along West 25th Street near Lorain in Ohio City. A main stage was set up in a parking lot at West 26th and Bridge, while businesses such as the Cleveland Hostel, Joy Machines Bicycles, and the Loren Naji Gallery hosted others.

The festival is currently accepting applications from musicians interested in playing in 2014. The music ranges from singer-songwriters to punk bands, but you should be doing original music— they are not looking for your classic rock cover band or a Rolling Stones tribute.

You can email play@bad racket.com with links to your press kit and streamable music, or go directly to sonicbids.com/britewinter to submit. Deadline is November 13.

If you are not a musician but just think it would be fun to stand out in the cold and hand out programs, you can add your name to the volunteer list by emailing  britevolunteer@gmail.com or going to http://www.britewinter.com/help-out/.
