A relatively new entry into the local jam/groove scene, Cleveland’s Broccoli Samurai refers to its music as “jamtronica.”
It’s on the other side of the jam band universe from the Grateful Dead-style, bluegrass-influenced granola jammers. Its spacious, dreamy, slow-simmering keyboard grooves would be right at home at any electronic dance music festival.
The quartet has polished its sound through an increasingly busy schedule of local gigs, road dates, and festivals. And it’s now releasing its debut album You Had To Be There at a Beachland Ballroom show it’s co-headlining with Brooklyn-based, nine-member soul/funk ensemble Turkuaz.
Broccoli Samurai takes the stage at 11:45 after Turkuaz plays two sets.
Tickets are $10.
