Cleveland Orchestra Heads South for Akron Performance

Fri 10/18 @ 7:30PM

For once Akronites won’t have to drive north to Severance Hall to hear the Cleveland Orchestra. The Orchestra is coming to them, courtesy of Akron’s Tuesday Musical Association (even though this particular concert is on a Friday, not a Tuesday).

They’ll get to hear the same program of predominantly Czech music led by rising young Czech conductor Jakub Hrůša that will be played at Severance Hall this week.

It will feature Leoš Janáček’s Taras Bulba and Antonín Leopold Dvořák’s The Golden Spinning Wheel. To round out the program the Orchestra moves over to Austria for Haydn’s Symphony No. 60.

The concert is at the University of Akron’s E.J. Thomas Hall.

Tickets are $25-$55.
