Issue 82 Port thing PROBABLY LEAST likely to make it..I COULD be wrong but…
LOT of folks use the OTHER stuff like Hospital,social services,library,etc. PORT authority DID LOT of damage to THEMSELVES over the years but hey…THINGS could have been done with,to river to straighten THAT out ENOUGH so steelmill,others semi happy and don’t have as much trouble doing their biz… THE development BANKER thing aspect of PORT CAN REALLY open them up to lot of problems,etc. NO idea HOW far THAT can affect the city if a deal goes bad…I REMEMBER THAT ‘talk’ about this $600 MILLION container port and then squat happened…in fact during DIMORA,RUSSO corruption mess something like SIX workers,mgmt types fled OUT of port authority offices via resignation…JUST gone like that…let one surmise what THAT was all about…anyways…
Port issue VICTIM of TEAparty anti gov anti tax mantra? U tell me…as of this posting NOV 5 voting was STILL going on but I got doubts on PORT thing passing but never say never… STILL ENOUGH Uncertainty far as jobs,money,etc.and folks may figure gotta keep my property tax reasonable cuz NEVER know WHAT Columbus or own county gov gonna do…. be lying if didn’t say or think that….YES enough jobs,money,etc.involved and in a sense IS a good bargain,etc. but in these ‘charged times’ I got a feeling folks aint listening, not in a good mood and all that… OR FEAR just ENABLE SOME OTHER wiggedout projects that REALLY SHOULD NOT see light of day…SEEN ENOUGH OF “THOSE” pedddled over the years…Maybe NOT a fair thing to say but that idea lurks in background and sorta affects the lexicon….
LANCI? HIGHLY DOUBTFUL win…. something like OUR Ross Perot. AFTER Jackson&Co…GOSH only knows… Guess same could be said for city council…OR COUNTY gov…from what reading,infering seeing this WIDE OPEN anything goes thing… REALITY takes odd twists and turns…but THAT is NEXT years election… CONSIDERING OUR makeup,mentality I would say BUDISH will probably win EXEC job but a ex Sheriff REID probably closer to hearts,minds of lot of people…( least those who haven’t got parking or traffic tickets) Well FIRST folks have to find out WHAT A BUDISH IS. …. I THINK days of bizarre, lame candidates is over… SUSPECT at COUNTY level MORE chance for REPUBS to rise to occasion…whether agree with that ideology etc.is up to each person…but THAT crew tends to be organized,financed well enough,sane ENOUGH,etc. SURE THEY are watching the landscape and gonna think twice before have likes of millionaires like Dolan,etc. “run”….gonna be interesting…
Ed F winning Gov Mansion…TIME will tell…NO idea what future gonna bring…I HAVE doubts…OTHER future runs? ?? Crystal ball anyone…sad part..CAPABLE,sane quite man. SAD took this sorry mess to bring semi Savior forward….USUALLY WHAT do need for that to happen…. THINK FDR,REAGAN,etc. NEED a few more yrs far as LBJ…
