Peabody’s Final Show Before Move to Agora Tue 10/29

Tue 10/29 @ 6PM

Peabody’s Concert Club moved uphill from the Flats as its east bank was dying in the early 2000s. It’s been at its location behind the Rascal House on the Cleveland State campus for almost a decade.

That ends this week as owner Chris Zitterbart and his staff move into the Agora at 5000 Euclid Avenue in Midtown, where they’ll operate under the Agora name.

The final show at Peabody’s is a typical lineup for the club, which has become known for its multiple band bills of punk and metal bands, as well as hip hop acts.

It’s wall-to-wall death metal, featuring five acts well-known to fans of the brutal genre Maryland’s Dying Fetus and San Jose, California’s Exhumed. They’re joined by two newer entries to the genre (yes, it’s still giving birth to demon spawn!) Florida’s Abiotic and Reading, Pennsylvania’s Rivers of Nihil, plus the longest-running band of the group, Cleveland’s one Embalmer.

All five currently or previously released their albums through significant metal labels Relapse or Metal Blade.

If you’re sentimental about the place, come down and say goodbye.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $17 day of show.

Image: What does that say, you ask? Who cares! It’s a typical death metal logo and they don’t want you to know what their band is called.
