Have you been wondering if you’re going to go to hell after you die?
Wonder no more! Head down to the Beachland Tavern tonight, and guitarist Glenn Schwartz will be glad to let you know. You’ll get to hear some sizzling guitar playing as a bonus.
Schwartz, now 72, used to play out regularly with the Schwartz Brothers, alongside his bass-playing brother Gene of Robert Lockwood Jr’s All Stars. His appearances have become increasingly rare, so you might want to grab the chance to hear this Cleveland blues/rock guitar legend.
Most serious Cleveland music fans know Schwartz’s story: how he left the original lineup of the James Gang to move out to California where he joined Pacific Gas & Electric and helped propel their 1970 hit “Are You Ready?”
He returned to Cleveland shortly after that, having been hit hard by his conversion to Christianity, which has colored his life — and his performances — ever since.
But he’s still a heck of a guitar player.
Admission is $6.
