Ekoostik Hookah Hosts Thanksgiving Jam@BeachlandCle

Fri 11/29 @ 8:30PM

Tireless Columbus jam band Ekoostik Hookah has been around since 1991, although it seems like they’ve been visiting these parts forever.

There have been some personnel changes since then. Given their rugged touring schedule and middling level of success, which precludes luxurious travel, how could there not be?

But they still continue to stir their gumbo of various American roots influences like blues, bluegrass, and funk, then add the file powder of psychedelic rock — and jam all night.

The band’s become known for Hookahville and other festivals it hosts around the region in the summer, bringing together old and new jam-band talent from across the country.

In the winter, their loyal fans must content themselves with hearing them in the indoors confines of places like the Beachland Ballroom, where they’ll play this week.

A younger funky psychdelic jam band, Youngstown’s Jones for Revival, who have shared Hookah stages many many times, will do so again at the Beachland.

Admission is $15.
