Cleveland trio Night Sweats has punk roots. You can hear it is their ragged energy, as well as in their irreverent, almost snide, attitude.
Now you can hear it on their debut full-length vinyl LP, New Sounds, which they’re celebrating with a release party at the Beachland Tavern. Maybe the sounds aren’t really THAT new, but they are bracingly straightforward. And the band is hand-printing the covers so you’re literally buying a bit of the band’s sweat. Look elsewhere if you like slick and polished.
Yet another band featuring punk legend Tony Erba, as well as Jack Storey and Greg Hyland, opens. That band, Midwestern Electric, emerged from this year’s Lottery League, which threw the three together.
Bobbi Pin is also on the bill.
Admission is $5.
