How much metal can you take? The Ohio Metal Fest is based on the assumption the amount is significant.
The doors of the Wolstein Center will open at 11 AM for this show, sponsored by the folks from Peabody’s.
At the top of the bill are names heavy music fans will know quite well, including Asking Alexandria (pictured below), All That Remains, Sevendust, and Sepultura (pictured above), the veteran Brazilian metal band that’s been fronted for the last 16 years by Cleveland native, singer Derrick Green. His tenure just recently exceeded that of founding member/lead singer Max Cavalera.
At the bottom of the more than 30-band bill are more obscure but intriguing bands from all over the country — and the world — like Australian metalcore ensemble Northlane, Swedish prog-metal band Vildhjarta, and Mexican deathcore band Here Comes the Kracken. Many of the names — Emmure, Bleeding Through, Born of Osiris, Kataklysm, Veil of Maya, Unearth — will be familiar to Peabody’s regulars.
Reserved seats are $35; floor general admission is $49.
It’s being billed as the “first annual” so I guess they’re expecting everyone to survive to do it again next year.
