Pre-Thanksgiving Metal/Punk Mayhem at Yorktown Lanes

Wed 11/27 @ 9PM

Parma Heights’ Yorktown Lanes didn’t have to look far for bands to create chaos in its Inferno Lounge on Thanksgiving Eve. They found plenty of them in neighboring Parma, the heavy metal capital of Ohio.

Parma native Jim Konya calls Schnauzer, the band founded in the late ’80s, “scrapmetal.”  They are indeed scrappy, tapping the extreme edges of metal their sound.  Let him describe it: “CRUSHINGLY heavy riffs, sloppy blast beats, RIDICULOUS subject matter, insane vocals and always witty lyrics make this an ear pummeling experience and not very pleasant to listen to.”

Another Parma native, Tony Erba, veteran of such non-mellow bands as Face Value, Nine Shocks Terror, and Cheap Tragedies fronts his latest non-mellow group Fuck You Pay Me, or FYPM to publications with delicate sensibilities. Those of delicate sensibilities should be nowhere near the Yorktown this evening.

Finally, the Gluttons are a long-term side project of a number of well-known area metal/hard rockers including Ringworm vocalist “Human Furnace” (James Bulloch). We don’t know for sure, but we’re betting someone in the band is from Parma.

It’s free. So you can spend your bucks drinking and bowling.
