Tri-C Jazz Fest and Mahall’s have added something to the multitude of Thanksgiving eve music options — an impromptu “pop-up” show dubbed Tri-C JazzFest Homecoming.
Maybe that’s because featured performer, guitarist Dan Wilson, has done a lot of travelling since getting his bachelor’s in music at Hiram Collge in 2006 and his master’s at Youngstown State in 2009.
He’s been to Brazil, Russia, and Germany. He’s performed with fusion saxophonist Eric Marienthal and the Golden Gospel Singers. He released an album last year called To Whom It May Concern. And he teaches jazz guitar and improvisation in Tri-C’s respected jazz program.
He’ll be joined on Mahall’s main stage by drummer John Suntken, bassist Dwayne Dolphin, pianist Phillip Jones, and sax players Brad Wagner.
Admission is $5.
