It’s always a good time when Cleveland’s long-running punkabilly quartet the Whiskey Daredevils makes an appearance in their hometown, shaking things up with the frenetic stage show.
It’s an even better time when they bring along another veteran Cleveland band in a similar style Lords of the Highway. In fact, that band released a record in the 90s on a label run by the Whiskey Daredevils’ precursor, the Cowslingers, and Daredevils’ bassist Rebecca “Sugar” Wildman was formerly with Lords of the Highway. Obviously, there are no hard feelings.
Daredevils’ guitarist Gary Siperko is temporarily sidelined for medical reasons. But the band has tapped its former guitarist Bobby Lanphier, now based in Nashville, to join them Thanksgiving weekend. So look for more older Daredevils favorites.
Also on the bill: Columbus’ bluesy rockers Dirty Biscuits.
