Joe Rollin Porter Headlines a Night of Traditional American Music @BeachlandCLE

Tue 1/7 @ 8PM

Joe Rollin Porter is one of those local musicians who isn’t high profile or trendy. He plays his own particular music at various spots around town, quietly turning heads of those who like their roots music really rootsy.

His skillful fingerstyle acoustic guitar supports a repertoire of traditional early American folk and country blues tunes that he gives his own spin to. He’s got one album out, 2010’s Troubles Just Like Mine, which features ten tracks like “Greensleeves,” “Oh Death,” and “Cumberland Gap.”

If you’ve got cabin fever on a cold Tuesday night, it might be a good time to check out a solid local musician who’s devoid of buzz but not talent. He’s playing at the Beachland Tavern. Local acoustic blues musician Paul Borger and Ashland County-raised acolyte of traditional blues/gospel artist the Rev. Gary Davis Noah Shull are also on the bill.

Admission is $5.
