Ohio City Singers Play @AkronCivic Cabaret

Fri 12/13 @ 8PM

Cleveland’s seasonal rock & roll ensemble the Ohio City Singers unveiled their latest album, A Town Called Christmas, in October. Now they’re rolling up their sleeves and getting into the heart of the holiday season.

Founded by local singer-songwriter Chris Allen, also the brains behind another seasonal band, the St. Patty’s Day crew the Boys from the County Hell, the group comprises such area music scene notables as Doug McKean, Austin Chranghat, Brent Kirby, Tom Prebish, Matt Sobol, and Don Dixon.

They’ll be here and there around Northeast Ohio for the next few weeks. Tonight they’ll be performing an intimate cabaret show at the Akron Civic Theatre.

The music’s mostly original, so you won’t be subjected to yet another version of “The Little Drummer Boy.” But the tunes are lively and fun and the type of thing you’ve find you’re quickly able to sing along with. Expect revelry and merriment and a rollicking good time.

Roxxymoron opens.

Tickets are $15 or $25 for two.
