PHOTOSTREAM: Heavy Metal Benefit for Hunger, Pets @BeachlandCLE

Fri 12/6

Sat 12/7

It was the fifth year for the WJCU 88.7 FM/Auburn Records heavy metal benefit for the Food Bank, the Friends of the Cleveland Kennel, and the Lake County Humane Society.

This year, however, the event expanded for one big night of local metal bands to two — Friday December 6 and Saturday December 7. Friday’s lineup included Alternate Reality, Vulgar Devils, Fuck You Pay Me, Embalmer, Soulless, and Dark Arena. Saturday’s featured Scum Park Hooligans, Slitt, Black Death Resurrected, Ground Zero, Global Warning, and Shok Paris.

The event was free, with guests urged to bring pet food and non-perishable food items for people. Several carloads were donated. Cash donations were also accepted at the event and online (with online donations coming from as far away as Poland and Germany), and a record number of raffle tickets were sold for various donated prizes.

Here are some photos from the second night, which also featured a holiday-themed appearance by the Red Hot Heathens burlesque dancers.
