Canton native Erin Mulligan brings more than two dozen of her unique paintings to Waterloo’s Gallery One Sixty this weekend.
A lifelong artist, Mulligan’s work is equal parts absurd and accomplished. She juxtaposes animals, objects, scenery and other elements to create intriguing, narrative scenes. Her traditional painting techniques create dynamic compositions, while her subject matter stimulates your own imagination and demands your contemplation. Her characters are strange (in a good way), but they are sure to steal your heart. This is the sort of show you’ll be thinking (and talking) about for a long time to come.
A new (free) parking lot is located next to the gallery. Rebecca Yodi and Broken Bottle Jewelry will be selling handmade jewelry at the opening. Local band Filmstrip will play around 10:30pm. This event is part of Collinwood’s monthly first Friday Walk All Over Waterloo. Don’t miss it!
