How about a hit of familiar, well-loved music to chase away the winter doldrums?
The Akron Symphony is offering such a piece this weekend when it plays a perennial favorite, Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. It will feature Canadian violinist Olivier Brault (pictured), who played here last year with Apollo’s Fire.
The evening opens with a couple of works by the ever-popular Mozart: the bassoon concerto in B flat major, with the orchestra’s own Todd Jelen as featured soloist, and his Symphony No. 29.
Akron Symphony music director Christopher Wilkins conducts the program, which takes place at E.J. Thomas Hall.
Tickets are $31-$55.
