The tie-dye tribes will be gathering at the Kent Stage this week for a five-band extravaganza dubbed the K-Town Getdown.
At the top of the bill is Cleveland’s Tropidelic (pictured), who have built a flourishing regional career on a sonic blend highly popular with college kids — that reggae/hip hip/funk rock thing that seems to ooze sunshine and good times, delivered in a soft-edged jam-band package.
They’ll be joined by hard-touring Akron jam rockers Aliver Hall, a quartet who boast that they “bring rock and roll to a happy place.”
Also on the bill are Athens, Ohio’s “Tribal EarthDance RockTronica” band Manitoa, Cleveland quartet Vibe & Direct, scarcely a year old, who released their debut EP Psychadelevator this past summer, and Kent’s Escape Pod.
Tickets are $10-$12.
