@Badracket Recording Celebrates Move With Open House

Sat 1/25 @ 7PM

At the end of last year, Bad Racket Recording pulled up stakes, moved out of its Lorain Road location in Ohio City, and hauled its gear over to the Asiatown section of the Superior/St. Clair neighborhood, where big loft-style spaces abound.

The studio, which opened in 2010, has become a magnet for some of the coolest indie rockers in town including Seafair, ShiSho, Bethesda, and the Lighthouse and the Whaler. Not only that but despite space limitations, the studio began hosting video shoots which led to live-in-the-studio concert events. Look for a lot more of that.

To introduce the music community to the new space, Bad Racket is hosting an open house — and yes, there will be live music. Raw blues/folk ensemble Jivviden and bues-rock trio Thaddeus Anna Greene will play starting at 9pm. Before that you can have a drink, tour the studio, meet the staff, and ask questions about recording there.

The event is free and open to all ages — so you high school bands hoping to go pro — come on down.
