Next month, Brite Winter Fest returns for its fifth year — the third in Ohio City.
The festival has just announced its lineup for this year. It’s increased the number of acts playing from last year’s 50 to nearly 70 this year. While it features a handful of repeats like Thaddeus Anna Greene and Seafair, a majority of the acts are playing for the first time.
About half the acts playing are from northeast Ohio and nearby cities like Columbus. They include numerous acts who’ve got some momentum going, with new material, touring or high-profile shows, including the aforementioned Seafair, the Lighthouse and the Whaler, Shivering Timbers, Herzog, the Pleasure Leftists, Vibe & Direct, Yosemight, Dave Hammer’s Power Supply, and Signals Midwest (pictured).
The others hail from places like New York, Philadelphia, Nashville, and Austin, giving festival-goers a chance to discover some bands they haven’t heard before.
This year the festival village will be in Market Square Park, at West 25th & Lorain. There will be two outdoor stages, a tent for festival goers who want to get out of the cold, place on multiple stages, the usual bonfires, an outdoor beer garden, food trucks, and a lighting installation. As in the previous two years, there will be additional indoor stages at businesses on and around West 25th Street: TownHall, Joy Machines Bike Shop, Loren Naji Studio & Gallery, Market Ave. Wine Bar, Great Lakes Brewing Company, and the Cleveland Hostel.
The festival goes on until 11pm with indoor venues continuing until 1am. All venues are free.

We don’t know yet who the lucky bands are that get to play a nice warm indoor gig and which bands might end up playing in a blizzard, like the one that hit on the day of last year’s festival. But here’s the complete list of artists scheduled to play Brite Winter Fest 2014:
