England isn’t maybe the first place you’d think of as a massive spawning ground for garage rock.
But the Jim Jones Revue came blazing out of London about seven years ago, and the quintet has hardly let up since they released their self-titled debut CD back in 2008.
Like many of their ilk, the band mashes together elemental ’50s rock n’ roll influences with a dose of the elevated fury of proto-punk acts like the Stooges and the MC 5.
They’ll be setting the Beachland Tavern ablaze this weekend — figuratively speaking, that is — with Cleveland’s Daylight Is the Dream and Eclectic Mayhem providing some indie rock to warm things up.
Admission is $12.
