Sat 3/15
Last year, Cleveland-based Cellar Door Productions presented its first two-night Cellar Door Rendezvous at the Beachland Ballroom and Tavern to celebrate the release of IV in its series of compilations. It featured some of Northeast Ohio’s hottest bands including Bethesda and the Modern Electric.
The event is back this year, expanded to both rooms both nights and 18 bands, including again some of the hottest bands in town — established, rising and brand new. An indication of the current strength of the area music scene is that this lineup features only three repeats from last year — Ohio Sky, the Commonwealth, and So Long, Albatross, as of whom signed with Cellar Door in the last year.
This year’s event will feature the Lighthouse and the Whaler, well on their way to making a dent nationally, and probably 2013’s hottest local breakout band Seafair. And it includes promising newcomers like These Knees and Likenesses.
The impressive and diverse lineup also includes (so far) Captain Kidd, the Suede Brothers, Thaddeus Anna Greene, NOMADS, Ottawa, Extra Medium Pony, Morgan Mecaskey, Midnight Passenger, Tom Evanchuck, and Rob Duskey.
You can see the Cool Cleveland photostream from last year’s Cellar Door Rendezvous here.
Tickets are $12 each night or $20 for both nights.
