The Mechanic Street House Concerts, an irregular concert series put on by a couple in the Ohio City home, kicks off 2014 with a double bill of local acts, both perfectly suited to play in someone’s living room.
Cleveland newgrass trio Honeybucket features Adam Reifsnyder on acoustic guitar, Brendan O’Malley on mandolin, and Abie Klein-Stefanchik on acoustic bass, with all three contributing vocals. They released their self-titled debut CD in October and are revving up for a great year.
Austin Walkin’ Cane Charanghat has been on the scene quite a bit longer, playing and singing his acoustic blues all over town and releasing four albums. The busy musicians is also part of Lonesome Stars with singer/songwriter Chris Allen and bassist Tom Prebish and the seasonal Christmas ensemble Ohio City Singers.
If you want to go, the procedure is to send an email to mechanicstreetmusic@yahoo.com to make reservations. We hear this one is almost at capacity, so act quickly. And ask to be put on their mailing list so you hear about shows as soon as they schedule them.
A $15 donation goes entirely to the artists.
