Transit Tracks @GCRTA Is Back With Crooner Bill Newman

Thu 1/23 @ 3:30-6:30PM

Last year, RTA tried something new to get Clevelanders to interact with public transit. Each Thursday throughout 2013, it presented a local musician or band playing at one of the Rapid stations.

It concluded the series, dubbed Transit Tracks, will the Vernon Jones Blues Cartel playing at Tower City in December.

Apparently, people responded positively. RTA is launching the program’s second year now — releasing a full schedule of artists through the end of the year.

The first of those is Bill Newman, who calls himself “The Cleveland Crooner.” He’s known for his renditions of pop ballads from R&B to Frank Sinatra. He’ll play at the Louis Stokes (Windermere) Rapid Station from 3:30-6:30pm.

It’s free.
