Cleveland’s venerable peace activist group Peace Action has been doggedly pursuing its cause of promoting world peace since 1987, through times when its message was front and center — the invasion of Iraq — and times when it was on almost no one’s radar.
To fund its nonstop work — peace in the world continues to seem out of reach — it’s hosting a benefit, an Afternoon with Brahms, at the Unitarian Society in Cleveland Heights. Cellists Diane Mather and Michael Haber, both former Cleveland Orchestra members, pianist Nina Fried and clarinetist Joseph Fried will perform Brahms’ Clarinet trio. The concert will be followed by a reception.
A freewill offering will be taken, with proceeding benefiting the Cleveland Peace Action Education Fund.
