Ernie Krivda Brings All-Star Band to Nighttown

Sun 3/23 @ 7PM

It’s hard to imagine Cleveland’s jazz scene without veteran sax star Ernie Krivda. He’s been a teacher, mentor, and bandleader in multiple formats, both encouraging up-and-coming artists and showcasing his own diverse jazz-related interests with a staggering pile of recordings and gigs with different lineups. Having just turned 69 hasn’t slowed down his activities; he still bubbles over with excitement about music and musicians.

In the last several years, Cleveland has honored his contributions by with the Cleveland Arts Prize and a CPAC Creative Workforce Fellowship.

In contrast to his Fat Tuesday Big Band which plays regularly around town, he’ll be bringing a small combo to Nighttown, with an All-Start Quartet that also features pianist Lafayette Carthon, acoustic bassist Marion Hayden, and drummer Renell Gonsalves.

Tickets are $20.
