Jazz Pianist Joe Hunter to Release New CD at Nighttown Show

Sat 4/5 @ 8:30PM

Joe Hunter has been a constant presence in the Cleveland music scene since the late ’70s, even while doing a teaching stint in Columbus in the early–mid ’90s.  The versatile jazz pianist’s reach extends in multiple directions including Brazilian music and the 20th-century pop of the Great American Songbook. He even did a stint in the mid-’80s in rock band Nation of One.

Currently on the faculty of Tri-C’s respected jazz studies program, you can often find him playing in bars and restaurants around town. He’s played with Ernie Krivda’s Fat Tuesday Big Band, and he’s long been a part of Musical theater maven Bill Rudman’s The Song Is You series.

Tonight at Nighttown, however, he’s celebrating the release of a new CD, Sweet and Lovely. He’ll perform with a trio.

Tickets are $10.
