Most people know Billy Clarksville better as Bernie Sokolowski, who can be found at lunchtime at his family’s landmark Tremont restaurant Sokolowski’s University Inn, making sure patrons have everything they need.
At night he turns into cool rocker Billy Clarksville whose music is an eclectic assortment of eras and styles from good ol’ rock ’n’ roll to classic rock to R&B, with a heavy dose of synth-heavy music with processed vocals, ranging from ’80s-style synth pop to ambient. Listen carefully and you’ll even hear traces of his favorite rocker, Lou Reed.
Billy Clarksville & the New Sinsations will be playing live at a readymade venue — Sokolowski’s, after the trays are cleared and the buffet line is shut down for the day.
It’s happening the same night as the Tremont Art Walk so you have two reasons to head over that way.
