Special Lecture Discusses Approaching Death in a Culture of Immortality @MOCACleveland

Thu 4/3 @ 6pm

In conjunction with their latest exhibition, DIRGE: Reflections on (Life +) Death, MOCA Cleveland is hosting their first of four lectures this week.

Draw Nigh: Approaching Death in a Culture of Immortality is hosted by Brandy Schillace, PhD, guest curator at the Dittrick Museum of Medical History of Case Western Reserve University. Her lecture will reinterpret several works in the exhibition from the perspective of 18th and 19th century death rituals and objectification. She will discuss the similarities and differences of these themes throughout history. Stop by MOCA for this first lecture, and stop back soon for the rest of this fascinating series.
