We had a blast! The Cleveland Mini Maker Faire was so much fun this year, and CoolCleveland was front and center for all of it. In addition to our interview we had with Ingenuity Cleveland’s James Krouse, we also got to touch base with some of the makers being featured in the Mini Maker Faire that day. There was so much to see and with so little time, which meant CoolCleveland only had time to squeeze in two exhibitions: CIA & CWRU’s “In The Dark” and Rovar’s Skeletor and Zooey Bot.
In the Dark was probably one of the most interesting visual displays happening at the festival that day, and that’s what drew us in to the show. The fashion show/technology program blurred the lines between chic and science by introducing wearable technology that can be functional and fashionable. CoolCleveland correspondent Marty Bielat got the inside scoop on the dresses from CIA student Leah Yochman and CWRU’s Ray Krajci, and boy was it fascinating.
After we got done with the fashion, Marty Bielat met up with Rovar’s Mel McGee and Shana Mysko for a follow up interview to see how everything turned out at the faire. Earlier this year we interviewed Rovar and they told us all about the technology they were going to introduce at the Mini Maker Faire; so we had to see it in action. Skeletor and Zoey Bot were both out ,and it was amazing to witness them in action. The kids were learning, we were watching, and the atmosphere alone is something you couldn’t miss.
