DANCEVERT’s “Wonders of the World” Examines Fractal Geometry via Dance @shorecultural Centre

Fri 5/2 @ 1 & 7:30pm
Sat 5/3 @ 7:30pm

Euclid’s 100-year-old Shore Cultural Centre hosts three special events in collaboration with local dance group DANCEVERT. Wonders of our World will consist of an afternoon “Student Lecture Demonstration” and two evening performances. At the afternoon demonstration, local dancers Tom Evert and Meghan Haas will discuss their passion for both dance and geometry. The evening performances’ theme centers around fractal (or “sacred”) geometry – known by both ancient civilizations and modern mathematicians and scientists as the fundamental pattern of nature itself.

The evening program includes duet pieces by Nick Carlisle, Tom Evert and Meghan Haas of DANCEVERT, a trio piece (written by Evert) performed by students of the Cleveland School of the Arts’ Dance Department, a “Geometry in Motion” dance performed by students of Arbor Elementary School and a short work featuring Evert’s students at Shore Cultural Centre. Each adult ticket includes a complimentary children’s ticket.
