Dave Mason’s Traffic Jam Plays @KentStage

Sat 5/3 @ 8PM

Dave Mason’s stints in the sui generis British psychedelic folk/rock band Traffic in the late ’60s and early ’70s were brief and erratic. During that time he composed a couple of their better-known songs, “Hole in My Shoe” and “Feelin’ Alright.” And being a co-founder/sometime-member of such a beloved and respected band gave him a toehold on a lifelong career.

Like bandmate Steve Winwood, he enjoyed a latter-day career as a solo soft rocker (thought he was nowhere near as successful). He even briefly joined Fleetwood Mac in the mid ’90s.

Mostly, however, he tours with his own Dave Mason Band, performing shows that sample from his time with Traffic and his extensive ’70s and ’80s catalogue. He’s now touring as Dave Mason’s Traffic Jam, and he’ll be at the Kent Stage.

Tickets are $25 to (gulp) $150.
