Cleveland’s Weapons of Mass Creations Festival, which brings together musicians, entrepreneurs, and designers from around the country, will be happening for the fifth year August 15-17.
To give folks a sample of what the festival is about and to raise a little money for upfront costs, WMC is hosting a kickoff party/benefit at the Beachland Tavern. It’ll feature three bands: Hawkeye, which bills itself as “ high-energy dance band,” and whose tune “We Are the Future” sounds like the ’80s colliding with the ’90s, veteran Cleveland rock quintet Midnight Passenger, and pulsating indie rockers Black Puddle Noise. There’ll be a speaker/designer too: Cleveland’s Aaron Sechrist who works under the name OK Pants.
Tickets are $6 in advance, $8 at the door.
