The Cleveland Orchestra has announced details about Porchestra, one of the programs that is part of its week-long residency in Lakewood, “The Cleveland Orchestra at Home in Lakewood,” taking place May 17-24.
Porchestra will take place from 4-5 pm Sun 5/18. Any Lakewood resident can register to participate, setting up a jam session on their porch with their family, neighbors, or friends.
They’ll be placed on a map, guiding visitors to places where music is happening, and each registered porch will receive two tickets to a Cleveland Orchestra performance at Blossom Music Center this summer.
Members of the Cleveland Orchestra and the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra will also be performing on Lakewood porches. Following Porchestra, there will be an outdoor concert in front of the Lakewood Public Library. The Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus Chamber Ensemble will play at 5:15pm, followed by Cleveland Orchestra members performing double-bass quartets and violin/viola duets at 6pm.
