The Cleveland Orchestra has announced the date for its 25th annual free Star Spangled Spectacular concert in downtown Cleveland.
Loras John Schissel will lead the orchestra in the 9 pm concert on Public Square that will include much of the same music he’ll kick off the Blossom Festival season with the following night: Bernstein, Gershwin, Sousa, and of course, the 1812 Overture.
Prior to the concert, community-created videos will be shown on a giant screen, depicting local residents engaged in all kinds of music making. Anyone can submit a video; the deadline is June 6. Find out more about the Make Music! Program here.
There’ll be a full complement of food trucks on hand before the concert, starting at 5 p.m.
