Cats are the second most popular subject on the web, trailing only porn. But you probably guessed that, right?
Apparently, they’re one of the most popular subjects for band names too. Somehow, Akron’s Musica has managed to put together a bill of four cat-themed bands from Akron. Though they’re a mixed bag, most of them make strong, credible music.
Time Cat, a guitar-drums duo featuring a wailing female vocalist, is celebrating a record release. They’ll be joined by new jazz/rock ensemble Acid Cats, female-fronted fantasy rockers Sancat, inspired by heavy symphonic rockers like Nightwish, who released an album called Supernatural late last year, and Meow Meow Kitty, whose music is goofy, satirical, and (probably deliberately) inept.
Admission is $8.
